If winning an NBA championship is tough, imagine becoming a dynasty.
Making it to the NBA Finals in back-to-back years is borderline impossible, yet two teams have seemingly made a habit out of it over the past decade or so.
According to Tim Reynolds, via SportsCenter, the Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors have combined to take part in 12 of the past 13 NBA Finals.
The craziest part about this stat is that they have never squared off against each other at that stage.

The Heat made it to the biggest stage from 2011 to 2014 with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.
They faced the Dallas Mavericks (lost), Oklahoma City Thunder (won), and San Antonio Spurs twice (won and lost).
Then, the Warriors took the league by storm from 2015-19.
With Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and then Kevin Durant, they faced the Cleveland Cavaliers three times — with two wins and one loss — and then Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors (lost).
Then, the Heat made it to the NBA Finals with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo in the 2020 bubble, losing to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Both teams missed the big game in 2021 when the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Phoenix Suns.
The Warriors bounced back in a big way to beat the Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals, but they failed to defend their crown in 2023 with the Denver Nuggets reaching the Finals to face… the Heat.
When will this streak end?
Will they face off next season?
We’ll have to wait and see.
