The Los Angeles Chargers already had one of the best offenses in the game, but just like they always say: the rich get richer.
They didn’t hesitate to take TCU standout Quentin Johnston in the NFL Draft, adding him to a wideout corps that already featured the likes of Mike Williams and Keenan Allen.
Notably, it didn’t take long before he made an impact and a solid first impression among his peers, drawing rave reviews from Chargers QB Justin Herbert:
“He’s a playmaker. He’s going to make a lot of plays for us,” Justin Herbert said, per ProFootballTalk. “He showed up and we knew early that we’ve got a special guy out there. He’s done a great job picking up the offense so far. He’s young, but he’s going to be something special. So, it’s been fun to watch him so far.”

Johnston was arguably the best player for a Horned Frogs team that shocked the world last season.
TCU made it all the way to the CFP National Championship Game, with Johnston hauling in 60 receptions for 1,069 yards and six touchdowns throughout the season.
He torched Michigan’s dominant defense for 163 yards and a touchdown in six catches in the CFP semifinal, and he looks like the kind of playmaker and speedster that could put up video game-like numbers every Sunday at the next level.
The Chargers have struggled to stay healthy over the past couple of years.
But if Allen, Williams, and Johnston are all available, they have the potential to come out of the crowded and stacked AFC West, especially if Herbert takes yet another leap forward in his development.
The Chargers look poised to compete at a high level for a very long time, and props to them for continuing to add more offensive firepower that fits Herbert’s timeline, and he’s just gotten better every single year he’s been in the league.
