Many fans look forward to the Subway Series between the New York Mets and New York Yankees.

It is one of the rare times throughout the season when teams in the same city compete against each other.

It was a two-game series in which the teams split the games.

The Yankees won Game 1 after coming back from a 5-1 deficit.

But the Mets responded in Game 2 with a comeback win of their own.

The game went to extra innings and the game-winning hit came off the bat of Brandon Nimmo.

According to Anthony DiComo, Nimmo became the third Met to record a walk-off hit in extra innings against the Yankees.

Nimmo joins the list with Jason Bay and Pete Alonso.

The Mets need all the wins they can get.

There are not many teams that have been as disappointing as the Mets this year.

Coming off a 100-win season the Mets were expected to compete in the NL East again.

Instead, they already find themselves 10 games out of first place.

The Mets have struggled all over the field in 2023.

They hoped to get more success from their veteran pitchers Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander, but both have struggled.

Also, their lineup has been below average all season long.

They rank in the bottom half of the league in runs scored and team batting average.

If the Mets do not start a long winning streak soon, they will have a tough time returning to the playoffs.
