The Golden State Warriors had a tough and crucial decision to make.
Finding a suitable replacement for Bob Myers was a complicated task, so they decided to promote from within.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that they chose former NBA veteran Mike Dunleavy Jr. to take over as their new GM, and the news was met with positive reviews by most fans.

Dunleavy knows the ins and outs of the league after a long and successful career with multiple teams, the Warriors included.
He had also spent quite some time in the high spheres of the organization, serving in the front office during Myers’ run.
Myers openly endorsed him multiple times, so it seemed logical and natural that the Warriors chose to go in that direction.
Dunleavy will have some big shoes to fill and a lot of issues to address in his first couple of days on the job.
He’ll need to figure out a way to keep both Draymond Green and Klay Thompson there for some more years, all while putting more pieces around Stephen Curry to try and extend their championship window.
He’ll also have to decide what to do about both Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga, as they may not want to be a part of the organization going forward, but their trade values may not be as high as the Dubs would like.
For now, Warriors fans will have no choice but to trust him, knowing that Myers wanted him to take the reins of the team once he was gone.
