The Kansas City Chiefs enter the NFL season as the team to beat again, not only in the AFC but in the league as a whole.
However, Craig Carton believes that five AFC teams have a chance to take them down, putting together a somewhat controversial list.
Carton said that the Cincinnati Bengals don’t have a sense of urgency and that the Buffalo Bills are a dysfunctional mess right now because of the situation with Stefon Diggs.

He chose the Denver Broncos at No. 5, which was obviously a bit of a controversial decision, granted that they should be much better now that Sean Payton has taken over.
Then, he chose the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 4, which makes sense from a roster perspective, but Brandon Staley and Justin Herbert will need to prove themselves after struggling in close games and crucial situations.
Carton chose the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 3, and while it might seem far-fetched, the Jaguars showed plenty of promise last season and should be even better in 2023, not to mention they have quite an easy schedule for most of the season.
The Baltimore Ravens were Carton’s No. 2, citing that they’re going to have a new-look offense with all those new wide receivers and Todd Monken as offensive coordinator, not to mention the fact that Odell Beckham Jr. and Lamar Jackson are fully healthy.
The New York Jets were his No. 1 candidate to take down the Chiefs, now that Aaron Rodgers is in town and will lead their offense for at least one season.
