The NFL, like every other major sports competition, is a results-oriented league.

That means that not many teams will trust their coaches for the long run unless they get something in return, which is why there’s always plenty of pressure, especially after they make big moves in the offseason.

With that in mind, PFF put together their list of the top-five head coaches on the hot seat entering the season.

Unsurprisingly, they talked about Kevin Stefanski, as the Cleveland Browns have revamped both sides of their roster and even their top-of-the-line coaching staff to be at their best in 2023.

They have a new defensive coordinator, and Deshaun Watson will be under center from day one and with new weapons, so there’s no more room for excuses after missing the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.

The same can be said of Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys.

The team always looks good against lesser competition and doesn’t have much trouble making its way to the playoffs, but his decision-making has cost them late in the season, and it’s time they get over the hump.

They also chose Josh McDaniels, who left a lot to be desired in his first year with the Las Vegas Raiders.

He got rid of Derek Carr and replaced him with Jimmy Garoppolo, but he may run out of scapegoats if things don’t work out this time.

Brandon Staley is next, and he drew plenty of criticism for his decision-making and clock management more often than not.

However, he did get the benefit of the doubt for leading an injury-riddled team to the playoffs, although he blew a 27-0 lead there.

Last but not least, they talked about Todd Bowles, who Bruce Arians trusted with his project by claiming he was ready for another chance, but it sure didn’t seem so in his first season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are aiming for their division, and anything short of a trip to the playoffs could cost him his job.
