The Baltimore Orioles have been off to a hot start this season.

Despite being five games behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East, they own the second-best record in all of baseball at 43-25.

But prior to their game on Friday against the Chicago Cubs, they got to share a moment with an old friend.

The Orioles traded slugger Trey Mancini to the Houston Astros at the deadline last year.

He won a ring in Houston and ultimately signed with the Cubs over the winter.

On Friday, the Orioles got a chance to say hello to Mancini for the first time in a while.

On Twitter, the team posted a video of Mancini hugging his old teammates.

Mancini was certainly well loved during his time in Baltimore.

He was a common power threat at the plate, but fans appreciated him for his fight and resolve after everything he had been through.

The veteran slugger missed the 2020 season after being diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer.

However, Mancini fought the battle and won, surviving his bout with cancer before making his triumphant to the Orioles in 2021.

At that moment, Orioles fans fell in love with the slugger as he became a favorite in Baltimore.

While he may not still be an Oriole, it’s clear that his former teammates still hold him in high regard and appreciate him for everything he did for the team and the organization.

Mancini is hitting .237 with four home runs and 21 RBI while also reaching base at a .303 clip.
