The New Orleans Pelicans have been mentioned in a series of trade rumors recently that involve their star Zion Williamson.

Zion Williamson’s future with the team has been in question after recent reports suggest that the team was looking to trade up in the upcoming NBA draft.

The Pelicans reportedly are trying to make a trade with the Hornets in the NBA Draft, but according to Shams Charania, they haven’t offered Williamson to the Hornets.

“To my knowledge the Pelicans haven’t called the Hornets and offered Zion for the number two pick..

Charania admits that the Pelicans do want to draft Scoot Henderson, who could be picked at No. 2 or No. 3 overall this year.

In order to make that happen, they most likely would have to deal Williamson.

But the insider remains skeptical about it, even saying that the Hornets would favor a trade centered around Brandon Ingram instead of Zion Williamson.

Williamson has shown that he can be a terrific player when healthy, posting 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 29 games last season.

However, his lack of availability has become a liability for the Pelicans.

It doesn’t seem like the rest of the NBA thinks differently, which makes a trade involving Williamson very unlikely right now.

The fit with LaMelo Ball in Charlotte would be interesting, as they both have been dealing with injuries for the past couple of seasons.

Time will tell how this situation unfolds and if the Pelicans find a way to get their hands on Scoot Henderson.
