The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly considering moving on from Zion Williamson.

And while that could sound crazy at first, it’s only right that they’re at least putting their minds to this.

Zion has seldom been available, and the reports about his work ethic — or lack thereof — and poor communication with the organization make it seem like they’re destined for a divorce.

Nonetheless, JJ Redick believes the Pelicans shouldn’t give up on him already and should give him a little more time.

“The Pelicans will never reach their full potential with [Zion] on the roster until … the preparation, the training, the diet, the sleep [all click, which are] required to go play basketball.”

Redick admitted that the Pelicans would never fulfill their true potential for as long as Zion is there unless he gets his act together and starts improving his eating, workout, and even sleep habits.

He believes that Zion is a generational talent but knows that he needs to slim down and get back to the weight he was in when he was in college, as he’s going to continue to get hurt because of the force he plays with and especially with that type of body.

There’s no denying that a player like Zion is worth the wait, and Redick knows that organization firsthand.

On the other hand, he’s been there for four years and has shown little-to-no commitment to being on the floor.

His body takes way more time to heal than the average player, and it’s become evident that he’s not taking care of his diet, either.

Maybe, he just needs a change of scenery and a different environment to finally push forward and fulfill his true potential.
