Over the last four seasons, the Los Angeles Clippers have often been picked by many in the national media as the clear favorites to win the NBA championship.
They have certainly had one of the league’s more talented teams during that span with star forwards Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, but they have very little to show for it, as they have gotten as far as the Western Conference Finals just once.
There is speculation that future Hall-of-Fame point guard Chris Paul may be on his way back to the Clippers this summer, but Tomer Azarly points out the main weakness of their core — the inability to stay healthy.
Chris Paul with this core would be interesting for the Clippers.
But at the end of the day, none of these moves matter if Kawhi Leonard and Paul George can’t stay healthy and PG doesn’t consistently play like the player he has shown he can be. https://t.co/2qhr86bcDi

Both Leonard and George have proven to be injury-prone during their time with the Clippers.
Leonard has been fully healthy for just one postseason with the team, as he injured his ACL during the 2021 playoffs, missed the entirety of the following season and played in just two playoff games this year before he tore the meniscus in his right knee.
George, meanwhile, hasn’t appeared in as many as 60 regular-season games in a single year since coming to L.A.
Apparently, the pundits conveniently forgot about these injury woes when they overwhelmingly picked the Clippers to win the world championship just prior to this season.
Paul himself is injury-prone, especially during the playoffs, and at age 38, his production has been in decline over the past year or two.
He, of course, previously spent six seasons with the Clippers back when their main weapon was a young Blake Griffin several years ago.
