The Atlanta Hawks have been a bit of a rollercoaster for years now.
They’ve alternated promising seasons with .500 campaigns, and it doesn’t seem like they have a clear direction right now.
They were expected to be one of the biggest dark-horses to come out of the Eastern Conference last season with the addition of Dejounte Murray, but that obviously wasn’t the case.
Now, NBA insider Jonathan Wasserman (via NBACentral) reports that they’re even considering moving on from De’Andre Hunter.

Hunter entered the league with plenty of promise as the No. 4 pick after a three-year stint in Virginia.
He’s struggled with multiple injuries since joining the Hawks, but he’s made a major impact on both ends of the floor when he’s been healthy.
Hunter is a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions, and he’s improved as an efficient shooter and finisher from all three levels, being able to play at the three, the four, and even some small-ball center.
Even so, the Hawks seem to be exploring every single option they have to get better and look like a desperate team on the verge of making a big mistake.
They’re also reportedly considering trading Trae Young after another controversy-riddled season, with John Collins also being a constant name that pops up in trade rumors.
Hunter is just 25 years old and could end up being a huge X-factor on a contending team, and considering the contract he’s got right now, it wouldn’t be shocking to see multiple teams lining up to get him.
