The Cleveland Cavaliers just finished a good season, claiming the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference and making the playoffs for the first time since 2018.
There is plenty of optimism for their immediate future, as they have one of the most promising young rosters in the NBA, not to mention a team that finished first in defensive rating during the regular season.
But there’s an old saying that good is the enemy of great, and another bold move may be needed for the Cavs to become championship contenders.
There are rumors they may look to trade starting center Jarrett Allen, but according to insider Chris Fedor, they aren’t interested in moving him.

Allen first came to Cleveland at midseason two years ago as part of the four-team mega-trade that sent All-Star James Harden from the Houston Rockets to the Brooklyn Nets.
He quickly established himself as an inside presence who protects the rim, secures rebounds, and finishes strong at the rim.
Allen raised his game a bit during the 2021-22 season, his first full season with Cleveland, by averaging a career-high 16.1 points a game and making his first All-Star Game.
At 25 years of age, he could have the opportunity to refine certain aspects of his game and become an even better player moving forward.
The Cavs could use help at the wing spot, which could ultimately be the one thing that gets them to at least consider moving Allen.
They could also use another 3-point threat or two in order to space the floor better for Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, and Evan Mobley.
