Portland Trail Blazers and Miami Heat fans alike haven’t stopped scrolling and refreshing their Twitter timelines to see if something went down with Damian Lillard.

The All-Star guard shook NBA Twitter to its very core after going live on Instagram, laughing and grinning while Will Smith’s ‘Miami’ was blasting in the background.

Needless to say, that prompted plenty of speculation about Lillard’s future, considering that he had openly admitted that he would love to play for the Heat if he were to be traded.

Damian Lillard’s agent releases a statement on Lillard listening to ‘Miami’ on Instagram live

“The music was just a coincidence. Damian’s not disrespectful. He’s not an instigator, so he’s not going to do anything out of character. There would be no reason for him to do that.… pic.twitter.com/VikKbF6dcS

That’s why his agent had to release a statement to clear the air and let it be known that Lillard wasn’t trying to stir the pot or be an instigator, adding that he’s on a work vacation and the D.J. at the spot decided to have some fun at his expense.

His agent adds that Lillard is a respectful person who wouldn’t try to push his way out of the Blazers by pulling off that kind of stunt.

Truth be told, he’s right on point; that’s not something the Lillard we know would do.

He’s always been quite straightforward, and he’d just say he wants to leave if that were the case.

Still, it’s not like the Blazers are in the clear with him right now.

Taking Scoot Henderson and Kris Murray in the NBA Draft was great for their future, but they failed to surround Lillard with players to win now, and he’s already made it more than clear that he has no intention whatsoever of playing for a rebuilding team.
