NBA Fans Are Remembering An Iconic Draft Class Today

Throughout the course of NBA history, some draft classes have left an ever-lasting mark way more than others.

For years, people have debated about the greatest NBA Draft class of all time, with some talking about 2003 with LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

Others rave about the class of 1984, featuring the likes of Hakeem Olajuwon, John Stockton, Charles Barkley, and Michael Jordan.

And while those two should definitely be in the conversation, NBA fans recently remembered the legendary class of 1996 as well.

That class featured non-other than the one and only Allen Iverson as the No. 1 pick.

And while he failed to win an NBA championship, he was a trendsetter and one of the all-time greatest scorers this game has ever seen.

This class also had one of the most influential point guards ever, a guy who’s still being copied and who was clearly years ahead of his time: Steve Nash.

Nash was a two-time MVP, and even though he was never a champion either, he went down as one of the best playmakers ever.

This class also had some iconic bucket-getters like Peja Stojakovic, Stephon Marbury, and Ray Allen, and hard-nosed competitors like Jermaine O’Neal and Antoine Walker.

Nonetheless, the undisputed GOAT of this class was the legendary Kobe Bryant, who was taken No. 13 overall by the Charlotte Hornets and then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in perhaps the most influential trade in NBA Draft history.

It’s hard to find a deeper, more talented class than this one.
