For most of the month of June, the New York Yankees have been without reigning American League MVP Aaron Judge.

Judge has been on the injured list since early June since he crashed into the right field wall at Dodger Stadium and injured his toe.

Recently, it was revealed that the slugger had a torn ligament in his toe and that there was no specific timetable for his potential return.

On Tuesday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network provided an update on the Yankees slugger and reigning MVP, revealing when fans can expect to see Judge back in the Yanks lineup.

Heyman talked about how the Yankees are in a perilous position without their MVP, but revealed that he had spoken to Judge on Sunday about the state of affairs.

Heyman says Judge compared his injury to “turf toe,” which is a common injury in the NFL.

That injury typically costs a player roughly 6-8 weeks.

That would put Judge on track to return roughly 1-3 weeks after the All-Star break.

However, Heyman noted that Judge’s situation is a unique one and that the veteran slugger can’t say for certain what the timetable for his return looks like.

Heyman also revealed that Judge is at least able to walk okay, but that he is in significant pain when he does so.

Fortunately, manager Aaron Boone expects Judge to return at a certain point this season.

However, it may be a while, meaning that he is unlikely to return before the Yankees make their way to St. Louis this coming weekend.
