The Washington Wizards lost yet another key member of their project when Kyle Kuzma decided to opt out of his contract to become an unrestricted free agent.

And with no shortage of potential suitors for his services, Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report (via NBA Central) recently revealed that he’s ‘gaining a lot of momentum’ as a potential target for the Sacramento Kings.

Notably, the latest reports cite that Kuzma is looking for at least $30 million per season, and the Kings just cleared a lot of cap space with all the moves they made during the 2023 NBA Draft.

Kuzma is coming off the best season of his career, so it’s not unusual to see a team looking forward to spending big bucks on him.

He’s an ever-improving defender and a big forward who can spread the floor with his sharpshooting skills, and he’s proven that he can embrace a lesser role in the offense if that’s what the team needs of him.

Then again, he might not be interested in a diminished role after being one of the primary scoring options since arriving in D.C.

Also, Kuzma knows California quite well from his days with the Los Angeles Lakers, so maybe, he wouldn’t mind heading back to the Golden State after a brief stint in the nation’s capital.

The Kings might be looking at a jumbo lineup with Keegan Murray also doing his thing there, and they’re not likely to bring back Harrison Barnes unless he agrees to take a big discount.
