The Washington Commanders currently find themselves in an interesting position as an organization.
The sale of the team still hasn’t technically gone through, and the team still has a lot of question marks on their roster.
One of those questions is at the quarterback position, given their turnover over the past several years.
Regardless of who’s going to be throwing the ball to him, however, Jahan Dotson has recently made a declaration about his second season.
“This year, I feel like I gotta come crazy. I feel like this is my breakout year.” Dotson said via the 2nd Wind Podcast and the NFL on ESPN.

Dotson had the third-highest amount of receiving yards for the Commanders last season, behind Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel.
He only played in 12 games last year, a reason that contributed to a smaller total of receiving yards.
The Commanders believed in Dotson’s talent during the 2022 NFL Draft, taking him in the first round.
Now, he should have a massive opportunity to succeed this year, provided that the quarterback position is under control.
Sam Howell is currently atop the depth chart, with Jacoby Brissett right behind him.
Howell was a fifth-round pick last year and only appeared in one game.
His lone start last season resulted in a win for the Commanders, where Howell threw for 169 yards and a touchdown, adding an interception to boot.
Can Dotson overcome a quarterback with limited experience?
As he put it, he feels that 2023 is his “breakout year.”
The NFC East has some of the league’s best cornerbacks in it, a true test for Dotson’s abilities six times per season.
