The NBA Draft was just last week, and it’ll be a while before we see the teams going at full strength back on the hardwood.
For now, we can get a glimpse of the stars of tomorrow with the beginning of the NBA Summer League, which is why the league didn’t waste a second to hype up one of the most anticipated matchups for this impressive rookie class.
Wembanyama. Miller. One week away.

Victor Wembanyama and Brandon Miller will square off when the San Antonio Spurs and Charlotte Hornets meet on Friday, July 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPN in a game featuring the top-two selections in this year’s NBA Draft.
Needless to say, all eyes will be set on Wembanyama, who’s expected to be a generational talent, and some believe he’s the greatest prospect in the history of professional sports — not just basketball.
Wembanyama is coming off a long season with this former team, even making it to the Finals of the French League, so it’ll be interesting to see how the Spurs coaching staff handles his minutes and load in this rather-meaningless contest, especially considering how they’ve always taken a pragmatic and health-first approach with their star players.
On the other side of the court, Miller will look to silence the doubters who thought he should’ve gone after Scoot Henderson, and prove why he’s perhaps the most talented and complete pure scorer in this class.
