The Phoenix Suns have been as busy as any team in the NBA over the last six months or so, with a lot of player movement and a new head coach hired in one-time NBA champion Frank Vogel.
With veteran guard Bradley Beal now in the fold with fellow superstars Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, the Suns are clearly going all-in and trying to put together a squad that can compete with the best of the best in the Western Conference.
Before NBA free agency got underway on Friday afternoon, Phoenix made another move with the team pulling their qualifying offer for Jock Landale, which makes him a free agent, according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
Landale would become an *unrestricted* free agent. Sounds like Phoenix is moving forward with the idea of targeting centers on the veteran’s minimum to backup Deandre Ayton, as their current frontcourt plan for 2023-24. https://t.co/z2w3NZzAEs

Some believe this move might be a precursor to something substantial in free agency or another big trade, but it remains to be seen what that move might be.
With the Suns doing everything in their power to put the best product on the basketball floor in the Mat Ishbia era, it’ll be interesting to see what else this team can do to improve moving forward.
As currently constructed, the Suns are very top-heavy with an intimidating starting five but sorely lacking depth on the bench, which is something the team needs to address before next season.
Many believe the team could still consider trading center Deandre Ayton to bring back multiple role players in order to address the depth issue, but Vogel has been adamant about wanting to work with the center, so it may not be an option.
