As usual, the Los Angeles Lakers are always linked to big-name players and are constantly mentioned in rumors regarding trades or what the team might do in NBA free agency.
This year is no different, with a lot of rumors swirling about superstar guard Kyrie Irving potentially being a target for Los Angeles, but the team has insisted that they want to keep the team relatively intact while adding a few pieces.
Right when free agency began on Friday afternoon, the Lakers wasted no time agreeing to a deal with former Minnesota Timberwolves forward Taurean Prince, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Obviously, this isn’t a major move for the Lakers and stays on course regarding the team’s intentions heading into free agency, as Prince brings shooting, which is one of Los Angeles’ biggest needs.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, it is only a one-year deal with Prince and a small number, which keeps the Lakers flexible in free agency moving forward.

With Prince in the fold and the shooting improved, the Lakers will continue to look for ways to upgrade their roster as free agency continues.
The real question now is what substantial move, if any, the Lakers will make this summer, as the team knows their championship is open and potentially closing after next season, with LeBron James’ future being uncertain.
There’s a chance the Lakers will try to bring back veteran center Brook Lopez, who may be ready to move on from the Milwaukee Bucks and add to the team’s frontcourt alongside superstar Anthony Davis.
