The Dallas Mavericks have re-signed Kyrie Irving to a three-year, $126 million at the start of the 2023 NBA free agency.

After months of rumors and speculation, the Mavericks put all the buzz to rest, giving Irving a big deal.

Controversial analyst Bill Simmons chimed in on the situation, mocking both the Mavericks and Irving over this new contract.

Dallas had to go to 3 for 126m for Kyrie because there were at least 3 other teams ready to offer 2 for 25.

Irving didn’t hesitate and clapped back at Simmons, calling the analyst out over this uncalled-for comment.

I see you couldn’t help yourself with this one huh Billy Boy. Just wanna say I appreciate you and continue to be the person you are. My Tribe says hello.

The bad relationship between Irving and the Boston fanbase has been bitter since he promised to stay with the Celtics and then signed with the Brooklyn Nets.

Simmons isn’t shy to express his opinion on anything and he couldn’t help but troll Irving and the Mavericks over this deal.

Still, Dallas got its desired player and gave Irving a big contract.

The Mavericks had an 8-12 record with Irving during the 2022-23 NBA season.

The Mavericks still need to bring in more players to help Irving and Luka Doncic compete for a championship.

Dallas also signed Seth Curry on a two-year deal, adding more firepower to their roster.

This can be a great move for the Mavericks or a big disaster, which could end in Luka getting tired and demanding a trade after his second season with Irving.
