One player on the Toronto Raptors that has seemingly been untouchable in trade talks for quite some time is All-Star forward Pascal Siakam, but that stance might be changing this summer, with the team potentially heading in another direction.

Siakam is the last notable name on the roster from the team’s championship squad a few years ago, and he’s been coveted by the franchise ever since, as it seems like they’ve wanted to build around him since Kawhi Leonard left for the Los Angeles Clippers.

With a few big-name players asking to be traded this summer, like James Harden and Damian Lillard, the Raptors may feel it’s time to make a move with Siakim or maybe gauge his trade value moving forward.

According to Michael Grange of SportsNet, Siakam could now be a hot commodity on the trade market via NBA Central.

Recently, the team saw star point guard Fred VanVleet leave Toronto for greener pastures in NBA free agency, as he agreed to a massive deal with the Houston Rockets worth $130 million.

Perhaps the loss of VanVleet has the Raptors brass thinking about rebuilding, with Siakam being their best trade piece right now, as he’d likely bring back a substantial return in any deal that might help if Toronto is planning to start from scratch.

With this being the first time that Siakam’s name has been floated out there, it will be interesting to see if he’s linked to the Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers, or Philadelphia 76ers, as those teams seem to be actively looking at making a deal.
