The Miami Marlins were hoping to get a look at their lineup when fully healthy.

One player that has been missing from that lineup was centerfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr.

He missed 39 games this season due to a toe injury and just returned on June 27.

But, after only playing six games since his return, Chisholm is headed back to the injured list with an oblique strain.

According to Craig Mish, the length of time he will miss is to be determined but oblique strains are usually 3-4 weeks.

Marlins placed Jazz Chisholm, Jr. on the IL with an oblique strain. He will have an MRI and depending on the severity, the length of time out will then be determined. Most low grade oblique strains are minimum 3-4 wks, and that is the hope.

This is the last thing the Marlins wanted to hear after just getting Chisholm back from the injured list.

He has been an often injured player during his career.

Chisholm has never played more than 124 games in a season and his ceiling as a player is still uncertain.

The 25-year-old has all the ability to be a 30/30 player, but he just needs to stay on the field.

He was named an All-Star last season and finished the year batting .254 with 14 home runs, 45 RBI, and 12 stolen bases.

Even without the help from Chisholm, the Marlins have been great this year.

They are 48-37 and are in the first Wild Card spot in the National League.

Miami is one of the surprise teams in baseball as they are getting the best out of all their players.

First-year manager Skip Schumaker deserves plenty of credit for the success of his team.

Also, the addition of Luis Arraez this offseason was one of the best moves in baseball.

Over the second half of the season, the Marlins hope to get Chisholm back in the fold in time for a playoff push.
