After the Denver Nuggets dominated the competition in the Western Conference during the NBA playoffs, the consensus seems to be that Nikola Jokic and company will be the team to beat for years to come, with Mike Malone’s squad potentially becoming a dynasty.
That said, teams around the league are doing everything within their power to compete with the Nuggets and have been making moves this summer in hopes of contending with the defending champions next season.
The Phoenix Suns have been arguably the most active in the West, with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker now getting to play alongside Bradley Beal, as they hope to have reloaded enough to avenge their second-round loss to Denver.
Although the Suns seem the closest to competing with the defending champs, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne gave her hot take on Monday that the Memphis Grizzlies will be the biggest threat to the Nuggets, via NBA on ESPN.

With superstar guard Ja Morant set to miss the first 25 games of the 2023-24 NBA season, it’s a little difficult to see how Memphis is the biggest threat to the Nuggets’ hopes of repeating.
Although the Grizzlies did address the void in the backcourt by trading for Marcus Smart and signing Derrick Rose, Memphis competing with Denver in the West seems to be a bit of a stretch, but anything can happen in the NBA, as those two veterans might be able to shoulder the load left by Morant.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out in the West and which team emerges as a potential title contender.
