The New England Patriots once set the standard for what it meant to be a winning NFL team — or sports franchise as a whole.
Bill Belichick’s tenure in charge of the team has been nothing short of glorious, boasting some of the most dominant defenses of all time, and — obviously — headlined by Tom Brady’s never-ending heroics.
But as much as Belichick has won during his two decades+ in charge of the team, it seems like team owner Robert Kraft doesn’t feel like he’s indebted to him by any means.
According to a report by Mike Florio of NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk, there’s currently some evergrowing tension between both parties.
Tension seems to be on the rise between Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft. In such situations, bet on the one who actually owns the team. https://t.co/qBAMaCBWig

Notably, Kraft has already made it known that he doesn’t want the losses to go on any further, hinting at making changes and that not even the legendary Head Coach could be in the clear if they have another losing season.
Belichick has failed to turn the ship around since Brady left to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, leaving some to wonder whether he was a product of his QB and not otherwise, as some other analysts have claimed throughout the years.
While maybe the truth is something in between and both were uplifted by the other’s greatness, Bill Belichick’s time might be running out in Foxboro.
He’s just a handful of wins away from becoming the league’s all-time winningest coach, but he might not be able to reach that milestone with the Patriots if things go south this season.
