Not so long ago, NBA fans debated whether Ben Simmons was closer to LeBron James or Magic Johnson.
Now, it’s been quite a while since we last saw him on the court, and it’s more than safe to say that he won’t live up to either of those comparisons.
As a matter of fact, it seems like even the Brooklyn Nets have seen enough, which is why they would like to include him in a three-team trade involving the Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers, according to a report by Greg Sylvander (via NBA Central).
Needless to say, the news prompted plenty of reactions on social media, mostly of mockery towards him.
Keep him for 1 more year, Nets have no actual reason to move him now at his lowest value.

That would be the deal of the decade. Getting rid of that contract is tough

Simmons is not Portland’s answer, but if it gets Dame to Miami it’s a greater good trade

This trade would most likely involve Damian Lillard as well, as the Blazers star is adamant about being traded to South Beach.
Simmons has been getting a lot of work done in the offseason — as per usual — but NBA fans have fallen for those viral clips way too many times already.
The former No. 1 pick is still young, and he’s shown the ability to be one of the best playmakers and most versatile defenders in the league when healthy.
But he needs to gain his confidence back after such a long layoff and so many struggles with mental health, not to mention the never-ending injuries and ailments.
Simmons’ contract is a big liability as of now, but a rebuilding team like the Blazers could be tempted to give it a go and take yet another chance on him.
