The Charlotte Hornets made a somewhat questionable decision regarding Miles Bridges.

He was tangled up in a domestic violence legal incident, even pleading no contest to felony charges and getting three years of community service.

The league suspended him for a handful of games, and the saga messed up his free agency, as he was projected to get a lot of money, whether it was with the Hornets or someone else.

He’s now back on a much lesser salary than he would’ve gotten otherwise, and his reputation — obviously — took a massive hit, which is why he took to social media to thank those who stood by him through the “tough” year he had in 2022.

The Hornets faced serious criticism and backlash for bringing him back, although the league pretty much allowed him to keep playing, so, technically, they didn’t do anything wrong.

Then again, we’ve seen the same thing happen in other sports and players facing different fates.

Bridges was coming off the best season of his young career in the league and looked like a prime breakout candidate.

But being away from the game for a full year could take a toll on his game, especially now with Brandon Miller most likely taking several touches away from him on the offensive end of the floor, so it’ll be interesting to see how he holds up.
