The New York Giants surpassed the expectations of most people last season by winning six of their first seven games, making the playoffs, and upsetting the 13-4 Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card round.
Their chances of repeating, let alone building on, that success lie heavily on the shoulders of Saquon Barkley, their star running back who accounts for a huge chunk of their offensive production.
He is currently under the Giants’ franchise tag and is looking for a new contract as the 2023 season nears.
But his dedication seems robust, as a video of his workout routine shows, via the NFL on Twitter.

In 2022, Barkley ran for 1,312 yards and 10 touchdowns while earning himself his second trip to the Pro Bowl.
It was an outstanding bounce-back season for him after he had missed a combined 21 games over the previous three seasons due to injury.
The Giants lack any high-level playmakers at the wide receiver position, which means that Barkley, for all intents and purposes, is their offense.
He allowed them to finish fourth in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns last season, and a run-heavy attack is going to be their best bet once again, especially since quarterback Daniel Jones seems to be more of a threat running with the football than throwing it.
Making the playoffs again will be a challenge for New York, as the division-rival Dallas Cowboys have added wide receiver Brandin Cooks and cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
Meanwhile, the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles have added defensive tackle Jalen Carter via the No. 9 pick in this year’s draft, and he is thought to have star potential.
