Major League Baseball has been growing in recent years.
The reach of the game has been expanding to places such as London and Mexico and will soon expand to places such as Paris, and even other locations in the United States.
But beyond that, the game is expanding to more demographics.
This weekend, Seattle Mariners legend and Hall-of-Famer Ken Griffey Jr. will be hosting a special event.
This event is called the “HBCU Swingman Classic”, and this will be the first-ever such event.
The new event will be showcasing 50 Division I baseball athletes from 17 different Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
On Twitter, Front Office Sports provided the news of this upcoming event.

This should be an exciting event.
Baseball is growing and expanding to other demographics as time goes on.
But this will give the baseball world a chance to see some of the best and brightest young stars from HBCUs.
“This gives these kids a chance to play the game they love on a national stage,” Griffey said, via the tweet above.
The event will indeed do just that, as 50 Division I baseball athletes from 17 different HBCUs around the United States will come together for such an occasion.
This event should be full of excitement as the baseball world gets its first look at some of the best and brightest future stars that these HBCUs have to offer.
This will be a chance to see the skillsets of each player and what they could bring to several Major League teams.
The event kicks off tonight.
