The dust has finally settled on NBA free agency for the 17-time NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers, with the storied franchise making a flurry of moves to bring in some new faces this summer.

Coming into the NBA offseason, after an incredible run to the Western Conference Finals in the NBA playoffs, the Lakers brass intended to keep the team relatively intact while also addressing some needs in free agency.

Few teams in the league were able to accomplish what the Lakers did, as Los Angeles has improved across the board while also securing the futures of D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura.

Along with keeping those three key role players in Los Angeles, the Lakers added Gabe Vincent, Jaxson Hayes, Taurean Prince, and Cam Reddish into the mix, giving them a peak at their new jerseys on Friday, via the team’s Twitter account.

Although it appears the Lakers have made all the right moves during this NBA offseason, with one or two possibly left to be made, it remains to be seen if this team can still compete at a high level next season.

Despite the retirement talk, LeBron James isn’t going anywhere, nor is Anthony Davis, which is a step in the right direction.

However, it will be all or nothing for the Lakers during the 2023-24 NBA season, with the consensus being that James could move on next summer and Davis could be traded before the NBA trade deadline this season if the team struggles heading into February.

Only time will tell what this team can accomplish and if one more championship run is in the cards in Los Angeles.
