It seems like it was yesterday when J.J. Watt was the undisputed best defender in the National Football League.
The winner of three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards, he was an unstoppable and unblockable force and a rival quarterback’s biggest nightmare.
That’s why it was more than logical and predictable to see that the Houston Texans intend to induct him into their Ring of Honor next season when the team hosts his younger brother T.J. and his Pittsburgh Steelers.
Nonetheless, no honor he earned throughout the course of his remarkable career might be as big as the latest one he accomplished after retirement.
Watt recently announced that he’s going to be on the cover of the Wheaties box, and he took to Twitter to express just how honored and thankful he was.
The Wheaties box is iconic.
Truly honored to be on the cover of the newest box (even if I do have to share it with knucklehead).
It’s a pretty special day for us and we’re very excited about being able to share it with you.
Go grab yours starting in August!@wheaties pic.twitter.com/WOGopkLPsu

Truth to form, Watt took a shot at his younger brother — who he’ll share the box with — and encouraged his followers to go grab that signature box as soon as it becomes available in August.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the former Texans star.
On top of the news of his induction into the Texans’ Ring of Honor, he was quite sought-after as an analyst, eventually signing a deal with CBS Sports to stay close to the game.
Watt is one of the most respected and beloved figures in recent NFL history, and he’ll continue to get multiple wins even long after walking away from the gridiron.
