The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the biggest and strongest contenders in the league for years now.

They’ve built one of the strongest, most stacked rosters in the NFC, and even though they’ve lost some key pieces like Robert Saleh or Demeco Ryans, they’ve always seemed to find a suitable replacement for their coaching staff.

With that in mind, superstar Trent Williams raved about the current status of the team, telling KPRC 2 that they have one of the best rosters in the league (via Aaron Wilson).

Williams also showed plenty of confidence in starting QB Brock Purdy, who’ll take the reins of the offense back as soon as he’s able to take the field, as he underwent surgery to repair his elbow in the offseason.

Purdy took over and shocked the world as Mr. Irrelevant.

He was much better than both Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo, earning praise from GM John Lynch and HC Kyle Shanahan as their undisputed QB1 for the future.

Notably, poor QB play has been the only thing holding the Niners back from legit Super Bowl contention for the past decade or so.

That’s why they hope that Purdy will be the one to put an end to their never-ending woes and be able to get them over the hump once and for all.

The Niners don’t face the same backlash as the Dallas Cowboys for their title drought, but it’s been almost three decades since the last time they were able to hoist the Vince Lombardi trophy.
