The MLB All-Star Game is full of the best players in the game.

Many have been multi-time All-Stars and have been staples in the event.

But each year there are a handful of first-time All-Stars.

This year there are far more than a handful of first-timers.

According to FOX Sports: MLB, there are 33 first-time All-Stars this year.

This is a stunning number of first-timers but they are all deserving of the honor.

Most times there are players who are unable to participate in the game, which opens up a spot for someone else.

All but nine of these players were selected as reserves.

The starters from this group are Corbin Carroll, Josh Jung, Randy Arozarena, Sean Murphy, Yandy Diaz, Austin Hays, Jonah Heim, and Orlando Arcia.

Also, National League starting pitcher Zac Gallen is making his ASG debut.

Having that many starters making their ASG debut is quite impressive.

Carroll and Jung are the only two rookies starting the game.

Both have been fantastic in their inaugural MLB season.

Carroll is hitting .289 with 18 home runs, 48 RBI, and 26 stolen bases.

He has been a big reason for the surprising success of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Carroll was the third-ranked prospect in baseball before getting called up last season.

So his success should not surprise anyone.

But, Jung was the 36th-ranked prospect, and seeing his success this soon was unexpected.

He is batting .280 with 19 home runs and 56 RBI.

It will be fun to see how all these first-timers handle themselves in their first All-Star Game.
