The Seattle Mariners have been given the honor of hosting this year’s All-Star festivities.

Seattle has always been a great baseball town and showed their love for the game at the Home Run Derby on Monday night.

Most fans that showed up were there rooting for the hometown star, Julio Rodriguez.

Last season he put on a show in the Derby and was hoping to do that again for his fans.

Rodriguez did not disappoint, hitting a record 41 home runs in the first round.

The Mariners were able to capture the record-breaking round, and shared it on Twitter.

That round was plenty good to eliminate two-time Home Run Derby champion Pete Alonso, making it the second straight year that Rodriguez knocked Alonso out of the Derby.

It seemed like every single swing was a home run.

He was fueling the crowd and the louder his fans got the better he performed.

Unfortunately, hitting that many home runs in one round can lead to some tired legs.

This could be one reason why Julio lost in the second round to Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Rodriguez only hit 20 home runs in the second round and you could see he ran out of gas.

Even though he did not win the contest, he put on a show that Seattle fans will remember for a long time.

He is one of the faces of baseball and the Mariners are lucky to have him.
