Fans of the Seattle Mariners came out in full force on Tuesday night for the MLB All-Star Game at T-Mobile Park.
Many of them were there to see their own All-Stars in George Kirby, Luis Castillo, and Julio Rodriguez.
However, there was one other player who the fans were interested in.
Shohei Ohtani was the starting designated hitter for the American League All-Stars, and when he took his first at-bat, Mariners fans made a pitch for the Los Angeles Angels superstar to come to the Pacific Northwest.
On Twitter, Mariners writer Daniel Kramer predicted that the Mariners will be all-in on the Ohtani sweepstakes this winter.
All signs point to the Mariners being in the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes this offseason. Tonight, their fans — in a moment that was as organic as it was surreal — made a bold pitch to baseball’s biggest star.

This is certainly a bold prediction, but if the Mariners are attempting to win now and take a shot at a World Series title, it would make sense for the team to go after Ohtani this winter.
The fans are certainly hoping that the front office will at least entertain the idea.
But Kramer seems to think that they will.
The Mariners got off to a bad start this season, but have recently found their footing.
They finished the first half of the season strong, winning seven of their last 10 games and moving above the .500 mark.
The team officially emerged as a true contender in 2021 and reached the postseason last year.
The Mariners appear to be on track for a solid second half as they look to reach October once again.
But the offseason will be interesting for sure, especially if the Mariners make a push for Ohtani.
