In recent years, Major League Baseball has made a strong effort to expand the reach of the game to other countries.

In 2014, Opening Day was held in Sydney, Australia.

The 2012 season opened up in Japan.

Next year, MLB will be expanding its reach to South Korea, as the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers will play a brief two-game series on March 20-21.

The two games will be played in Seoul.

As a result, the two teams will have a slightly shorter spring training schedule.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today provided the news of MLB’s latest international development on Twitter.

The LA #Dodgers and SD #Padres will have a shortened spring.

This should be a fun way to kick off the 2024 season.

In addition to Japan and Australia, MLB has scheduled games in places such as Mexico and London.

In 2025, they are expected to have a series take place in Paris.

But next year, the season will start in South Korea.

This should be fun and exciting as MLB continues to expand its reach in an attempt to grow the game beyond just the United States and Canada.

The London and Mexico Series are examples of such.

But more is expected to come in the next few years.

Though not an international venture, MLB does have the Field of Dreams Game to look forward to.

That game takes place at the location from the movie in Dyersville, Iowa.

But Opening Day next season will take place in a new spot entirely as the Dodgers and Padres will make their way to South Korea.
