The Kansas City Chiefs have found success because they have some of the best players in the league — and arguably of all time, not to mention an elite head coach.
But on top of that, those superstars also happen to be positive leaders, guys who know how to make an impact off the field as well as on it.
That was evident again during Travis Kelce’s speech at the ESPYS.
“The thing about sports is it teaches you a lot about life.”

The now-legendary tight end shared his thoughts on how sports and life are alike, citing that sports allow you to learn a lot about yourself, those who surround you, those whose lives you can impact, and even the cities and places you visit while playing.
Notably, Kelce can definitely say a thing or two about how wild sports can be.
He used to play quarterback when he enrolled at the University of Cincinnati, and then a marijuana-related suspension pretty much pushed him to the tight end room.
But more than that, he had to prove that he was worthy of being there, silencing the doubters, working as hard as ever, and knowing he would have a huge target on his back for the remainder of his college career.
Fast forward to today, and he’s now considered one of the greatest players to ever line up at that position, a multi-time champion, and even someone who has taken it upon himself to share his knowledge with his colleagues every offseason.
Life and sports aren’t all that different, and Kelce sure knows about that.
