Just last year, Albert Pujols was embarking on his unforgettable farewell tour alongside Yadier Molina.
After a tough first half, Pujols got hot in the second half and reached the historic 700-homer mark.
On September 23, he hit two blasts at Dodger Stadium to reach the mark.
Pujols is now retired, but his big moment lives on in St. Louis Cardinals and MLB history.
Recently, Pujols spoke with MLB Network’s Bob Costas and reflected on his big home run, recalling his unforgettable moment that he got to share with Molina, Adam Wainwright, and the rest of his Cardinals teammates.
A snippet of the interview can be found in the tweet below.
On a Friday night last September, @PujolsFive made history with his 700th homer and was honored to do it in the uniform where it all started.

Pujols recalled being grateful for the opportunity to hit the home run with the Cardinals, and he praised the organization for giving him the opportunity to prove himself when he was drafted back in 1999.
The former slugger also was appreciative of having the opportunity to do it at Dodger Stadium, a ballpark he knew quite well from his brief time with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He even recalled not being sure if he wanted to come back in 2022 until the designated hitter was added in the National League.
That’s when he realized he had the chance to finish out his career in St. Louis.
Pujols reiterated his gratitude towards the Cardinals for not only giving him a chance as a young player, but being willing to bring him back to St. Louis for one last ride alongside Wainwright and Molina.
