The MLB trade deadline is less than three weeks away, and this year’s deadline is shaping up to be one of the more interesting ones in recent memory.

So far, the trade market has been somewhat quiet, with the exception of the deal the Texas Rangers made with the Kansas City Royals to acquire Aroldis Chapman.

This has led some to believe that the deadline this year will be a quiet one.

However, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic advised people to pump the brakes on that, and stated that he thinks this will be a crazy deadline, as has been the case for the past several years, via Foul Territory on Twitter.

“I expect all hell to break loose”

Rosenthal noted something that Miami Marlins General Manager Kim Ng said on MLB Network Radio.

Ng was surprised by the fact that there appear to be so few sellers and that the Central divisions are so tightly packed.

However, Rosenthal said that he didn’t buy Ng’s claims and said that he never expects a trade deadline to be quiet, due to the fact that speculation like this occurs every year and the opposite ultimately happens.

He then made a bold claim, saying that he expected “all hell to break loose.”

The markets are somewhat thinner than in the recent past.

Starting pitching is a market that appears pretty thin beyond the likes of Dylan Cease and Shane Bieber.

Lucas Giolito, Jack Flaherty, and Jordan Montgomery are certain pitchers that could also be traded.

Still, the deadline is always a crazy time of year, and Rosenthal expects that trend to continue.
