Over the past few weeks, the New York Jets have gotten more attention than any team in the NFL, with the addition of superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers putting the spotlight directly on the storied franchise.
Along with Rodgers bringing a lot of added attention to the team, the NFL had a choice to make when it came to HBO’s “Hard Knocks” and which team would be forced to appear on the popular offseason show.
Only four teams were eligible to be forced to be on the show; the Jets were one of those teams, along with the New Orleans Saints, Washington Commanders, and Chicago Bears.
The Jets were the clear favorite to be on the show for obvious reasons, and now they will be featured, with Rodgers reacting to the news by saying the following, according to CBS News Bay Area, via The Jake Asman Show:
.@AaronRodgers12 was asked by @KPIXtv about the #Jets being chosen for Hard Knocks:
“Look, I understand the appeal with us. There’s a lot of eyes on me, a lot of eyes on our team, a lot of expectations for our squad. They forced it down our throats and we have to deal with it.”… pic.twitter.com/hEhtTUffOg

The Jets let it be known time and time again that the team wanted no part of being on the show because it can become a big distraction, especially for a team expected to contend for a Super Bowl title with a superstar quarterback under center.
Even though Rodgers and the Jets aren’t thrilled about being on the show, the fans of the show are ecstatic as it could be pure entertainment.
It’ll be interesting to see if “Hard Knocks” turns out to be a good or bad thing for the new-look Jets as Rodgers and company try to put everything together ahead of the 2023 campaign.
