To say that the Chicago Bears didn’t fare well last season would be a bit of an understatement.
But that terrible record actually paved the way for a very solid future, as they used that No. 1 pick to get multiple valuable assets, and they also gave Justin Fields a longer leash to showcase his skills and prove his worth.
Fields looked like the best second-year quarterback in the league during a stretch last season, and he’s reportedly making great strides in the offseason.
Moreover, a report by Bears insider Daniel Greenberg states that several Bears wideouts are currently working out in Florida with Fields.

Fields proved his doubters wrong last season, and he’s looking forward to taking another major leap in year three.
The Bears will now have more weapons in the passing game with a full season of D.J. Moore, Chase Claypool, Darnell Mooney, and Cole Kmet at Fields’ disposal.
Moreover, with the Minnesota Vikings quietly rebuilding and Aaron Rodgers no longer with the Green Bay Packers, they might as well have a shot at coming out of the division or at least clinching a playoff berth.
Fields was barely asked to throw the football during the first half of the season, doing most of his damage with his feet.
Matt Eberflus gave him more chances as the year went by, and he proved to be a much more better passer than some of his doubters said.
Now, he’ll look to lead the Bears back to the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
