The Philadelphia Eagles thought the 2022 campaign would end up as a dream season for them, but they blew a 10-point lead in the Super Bowl and lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Some Philly fans blamed the controversial holding penalty that was called on cornerback James Bradberry late in the contest, which was a call some in the media criticized, even though Bradberry later admitted he did, indeed, commit the penalty.
Then there was the matter of the playing surface at State Farm Stadium in the Phoenix area, which wasn’t quite up to par, at least according to some players.
Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert made a comment that seemed to indicate he thinks his team would have definitely won had the playing surface been better, via Dov Kleiman and Pardon My Take.

A number of players had trouble with their balance during Super Bowl LVII, yet the NFL put the blame on the players and not itself or even stadium officials, as it said the participants in the contest weren’t wearing the right cleats.
Philly’s offense was seemingly humming in the first half as it put up 24 points by intermission, but after that, their defense fell apart at the seams.
They allowed Kansas City to score three touchdowns in quick succession, which led to them trailing 35-27 early in the fourth quarter.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts got into the end zone for a touchdown, then scored a two-point conversion himself, but that was all the NFC champs could muster in terms of production in the second half.
