Five years ago, every single team in the National Football League would’ve given up a lot to get DeAndre Hopkins.
Now, it seems like he doesn’t have that many options, with the Tennessee Titans looking as one of just two teams showing a legit interest in acquiring his services.
With that in mind, Mina Kimes of NFL Live took to ESPN to share her thoughts about Hopkins’ potential signing with the Titans.
Per Kimes, he could have a tremendous impact on that offense still, adding that they’re a much better offensive group than people give them credit for.
Treylon Burks was impressive and showed glimpses of greatness in his rookie season, and she called starting TE Chigoziem Okonkwo one of the most underrated players in the league, obviously talking about Derrick Henry later.
Kimes adds that even though the Titans should still struggle with offensive line play, they will have an improved defense next season, and it would be tough to count them out of the playoff picture if Hopkins joins them, especially with a savvy veteran coach like Mike Vrabel still leading the way.
Truth be told, the Titans play in one of the worst divisions in the game, so even if their OL and QB situation is far from ideal, they could still mess around and make the playoffs next season.
Hopkins should have more than enough motivation to prove that he’s still an elite player in this league, and it would be tough to count them out so easily.
