For years, the New Orleans Pelicans and Zion Williamson have made the news for the very same things.
The cycle starts with Zion looking slim and dominating on the court, then getting hurt shortly after, and then looking out of shape again.
Even Zion recently admitted that he has plenty of trouble getting and staying in shape.
His eating habits might not be the best, and he’s the kind of player who needs to slim down before his body gives up on him.
That’s why former NBA star Charles Barkley — who also knows a thing or two about struggles with his physical shape — recently went on ESPN to tell him to hire a professional chef.
Barkley cites that Zion hasn’t been fair to the Pelicans or the NBA, adding that it’s time he grows up already and starts acting like a professional.
Chuck urged him to hire a chef, as he has more than enough money to afford that.
He also took a shot at his environment by stating that he looks like a good kid, but it seems like no one around him cares about him enough to call him out and tell him he’s about to mess his career up.
Truth be told, chances are that the Pelicans actually hired a professional chef to get him in shape, so that may not be the issue.
At the end of the day, it’ll be up to him — and him only — to get and stay in shape and live up to his potential or not.
