The New York Yankees have been struggling a bit as of late.
New York lost on Friday night to the woeful Colorado Rockies by a final score of 7-2.
Meanwhile, their hated rivals, the Boston Red Sox pulled off a victory over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field and moved into a tie with the Yanks in the standings.
New York and Boston are now tied for last place in the American League East.
The Yankees spent a little time in last place earlier this season, but have returned to the cellar.
On Twitter, Red Sox analyst Thomas Carrieri pointed out the Yankees’ recent struggles.

Like the Red Sox, the Yankees are 8.5 games out of first place and own a record of 49-43.
But the Yankees have lost back-to-back games and now have dropped six out of their last 10.
The Yankees have been struggling ever since Aaron Judge went on the injured list in early June.
However, they still have solid talent on their roster, even in Judge’s absence.
New York still has Anthony Volpe, Giancarlo Stanton, Jose Trevino, Carlos Rodon, Gerrit Cole, Anthony Rizzo, Harrison Bader, and others.
But the team has been struggling as of late and now find themselves in some uncharted territory.
There still is no timetable for Judge’s return, but the Yankees have been floundering in his absence.
The Yankees could ultimately find themselves alone at the bottom of the pack by the end of Saturday’s game against the Rockies.
But this is uncharted territory for the Yankees, and they’ll look to find their way out of this mess.
