The Jacksonville Jaguars had one of the most substantial season-to-season jumps in recent memory.
After a drama-filled 2021, where they only went 3-14, the Jaguars were able to turn things around, winning the division with a 9-8 record.
Many credited the Jaguars’ turnaround to Trevor Lawrence, who did take a massive leap forward in his second NFL season.
However, another team member’s performance may have taken a backseat, as Evan Engram was able to put together a career year.
The Jaguars placed the franchise tag on Engram to begin the offseason, tying him to the team for one more season.
However, as Ian Rapoport has reported, the Jaguars just extended Engram to a three-year, $41.25 million contract.
The #Jaguars and standout TE Evan Engram agree to terms on a 3-year, $41.25M deal that includes $24M guaranteed, per me and @TomPelissero.

After spending five seasons with the New York Jets, Engram is tied to Lawrence and the Jaguars for the next three seasons.
The tight end position has gotten increasingly popular, especially given the success that the Kansas City Chiefs have found.
Travis Kelce has changed the game for athletes moving forward and helped pave the way for players like Engram to get a massive contract.
Not only is Engram a great pass-catcher, but he’s also willing to block for his fellow teammates.
This makes him an incredible asset to the Jaguars, who have now put their money where their mouth is.
Lawrence, Engram, and the rest of the Jaguars face an uphill battle this year.
The AFC is filled with young quarterbacks who will all fight for limited playoff spots.
Will the Jaguars be able to claim a spot again this year?
