The 2023 season has been a treat thus far.
However, the second half of the season is officially upon us and it’s time to see who the true contenders are in both the American League and National League.
In the NL, the Atlanta Braves are clearly one of the top contenders.
They own the best record in all of baseball at 61-30 and have a 9.5 game lead over the Miami Marlins in the NL East.
On Sunday morning, Buster Olney of ESPN tweeted a list of all teams in the National League and their playoff odds, according to Fangraphs.
Atlanta currently has a 100 percent chance of reaching the postseason, per Fangraphs.
NL playoff chances, per Fangraphs:
Braves 100%
Dodgers 95.1%
Brewers 71.6%
Giants 69.1%
Marlins 66.2%
Phillies 62.5%
Diamondbacks 57%
Padres 28.8%
Reds 23.2%
Mets 11.3%
Cubs 9.3%
Cardinals 5.3%
Pirates 0.8%
Nationals, Rockies 0.0%https://t.co/aW7oAjgFzc

This is certainly a favorable position to be in for the Braves.
Atlanta has not missed the postseason since 2017.
They have won five consecutive NL East titles and have gone as far as the NLCS in three of those seasons.
Atlanta even won their first World Series title since 1995 back in 2021.
Once again, the Braves are one of the powerhouse teams in baseball.
They own a 31-16 record at Truist Park and a 30-14 record away from home.
The Braves also have won seven of their last 10 games and own a +155 run differential.
All signs point to the Braves being a lock for the postseason yet again.
The second half is just barely underway, but the Braves have put themselves in a position for much more success this coming October as they look to bounce back from their NLDS loss to the eventual NL champion Philadelphia Phillies.
