Breaking news in the NBA is usually dominated by two people, with Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN and The Athletic’s Shams Charania battling it out for who can drop the scoop first on Twitter.

These two are so good at their jobs that they get news of things happening in the league before players, especially when it comes to teams making trades.

Many players over the years have said they have found out they’ve been traded by seeing a tweet by Wojnarowski and or Charania and have been upset that the team didn’t notify them first.

Ahead of the NBA trade deadline in 2022, rising star Tyrese Haliburton became one of those players, as Wojnarowski told him directly that he was likely headed to the Indiana Pacers.

This blew Haliburton away as Wojnarowski was the only person that knew this was about to happen, and he explained how it all went down on Podcast P with Paul George.

Ultimately, the Pacers made a blockbuster trade with the Sacramento Kings to acquire Haliburton, who was thought to be one of the team’s untouchable players when it came to trade talks.

That wasn’t the case, and he was basically swapped for Domantas Sabonis in a deal that left a lot of people blown away, as it seemed like a strange move to make for both teams.

However, it seems as though the deal has worked out for both sides, with the Kings going on to end their postseason drought and the Pacers looking like a promising young team on the rise in the Eastern Conference, with Haliburton leading the way.
