After 20 years in the NBA and getting swept by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James seemed to be contemplating life after basketball following a grueling season and a deep playoff run that ended in disappointment.
In his postgame press conference after being eliminated in the playoffs, James hinted that he would consider retirement this summer, even though no one really put much stock in it, as most people thought it was a tactic to overshadow his being swept.
Ultimately, there wasn’t much to James supposedly flirting with the idea of retirement, as he recently announced in grand fashion at the ESPYs that he would be returning for a 21st season, surprising no one.
As usual, James has been as active as ever on social media and loves when someone tweets out some of his old highlights like Timeless Sports recently did and was quote-tweeted by the four-time NBA champion.

It’s wild seeing these old highlights of James during his high school days with a full head of hair and a jersey with three digits, as he has come so far since then with some accolades achieved on the highest level that will likely never be touched.
As for the immediate future, James will get back to work with the Lakers in a few months in order to prepare for what could be another exciting season in Los Angeles, with the storied franchise expected to be a title contender during the 2023-24 campaign.
