When it was announced that Damian Lillard wanted to leave the Portland Trail Blazers, teams across the league jumped into the fray to try and land the amazing point guard.
Although the Miami Heat have been at the forefront of a Lillard acquisition, a few other teams have popped up in reports.
One of those teams is the Boston Celtics.
There was a rumor that the team’s lead star, Jayson Tatum, attempted to woo Lillard and convince him to join his team.
Speaking on the red carpet the other day, Tatum was asked about him trying to recruit Lillard, according to a video from Ball Don’t Lie on Twitter.
The four-time All-Star played it coy and acted innocent.
“Nah. I ain’t got nothing to do with that,” Tatum said.

The rumor about Lillard coming to the Celtics quickly died down and it’s now clear that he isn’t going to Boston.
Did Tatum really reach out to Lillard?
Was there ever any chance of him leaving Portland for Boston?
Although he said he didn’t, Tatum trying to get Lillard would have been a big deal.
It would have proven that Tatum believes his team needs more firepower and strength to win the Finals.
It would also prove that he is willing to say goodbye to some of the men he plays with now since a trade for Lillard would require quite a few athletes in his place.
You can’t blame Tatum for wanting Lillard on his team since he is one of the greatest guards in the league and has been for years.
But, according to him, he hasn’t made any behind-the-scenes calls or moves.
